Connect Code

A virtual exhibition, recording a series of outcomes exploring the idea of a two by two connective tile. Each component is a square with two connection points on each side. The enquiry explores the unique options for connecting these points, one to one other. The enquiry then goes on to make larger constructions using the tiles as components. Derived from an original concept, developed circa 2014/15.

Prints of the featured outcomes can be ordered from the CONNECT collection at: PRINT.REVAD.COM.

Artweeks Stream For Oxfordshire Artweeks 2020

ARTWEEKS STREAM is a virtual exhibition of art outcomes made and curated by REVAD. The STREAM is REVAD's contribution to OXFORDSHIRE ARTWEEKS 2020.

The exhibition home page shows a random animated STREAM, made using the colours of ARTWEEKS, with the colours coded using REVAD's colour alphabet. The animation is built using #P5js.

The [STUDIO] page shows a grid of works, photographed while installed on REVAD's studio gallery wall. You will find a collage of drawings made in various media (marker pen on paper, pixels on screen, bungee cord on frame, and recorded as #Chromaluxe prints on aluminium.

The [NOTES] page shares two writings made while installing the exhibition. REBOOT is a comment on the #coronavirus #lockdown. PHILOSOPHY is a statement of one perspective on REVAD's art practice.

There is also a free print quality catalogue (flyer) available via the site menu [CATALOGUE (PDF)] button. Please download and print for your own record of the...

Connect With This Space Et Al

REVAD's Facebook profile is now dedicated to exhibiting only projects and outcomes made using Facebook as a key tool in the making process. To date, there are three projects on exhibit: FACEBOOK INITIALS, CONNECT WITH THIS SPACE and FACEBOOK GRID. Two of these projects used page likes to collect Facebook user names, which were then coded and posted to the page. One coded just the initials and the other coded the full user name. Both pages have since been deleted, but the outcomes survive, and the data is still being used to make new aesthetic outcomes. The other project used Facebook to curate, organise and record colour grids. This was as a response to the new (at the time) grid view of a Facebook profile timeline. These projects have been recently curated and then installed (by REVAD) to the Facebook account found by clicking MORE INFORMATION.

Tunc Revisited

A Twitter account has been reassigned to exhibit REVAD's TWITTER USER NAMES CODED social media site specific project outcomes. During the data acquisition phase the names of each follower was coded and posted to the account timeline. The code used was a stylised version of Morse Code. These coded forms were also used, as components, to construct larger outcomes. The project home can be found via the MORE INFORMATION link.
